Our business has been working with Jill Middleton of Safety Compliance Matters for the past 3 years. We have been utilising Jill for a variety of H&S awareness courses over the last 6 years and have built a great rapport with her.

Jill Middleton from Safety Compliance Matters was commissioned by us, at quite short notice, to carry out an in-depth review/audit of our Health & Safety Policy, Procedures and Risk Assessments, with the primary focus being on our main office and sheltered housing scheme.
Jill wanted to ensure that the material she produced was very much tailored to our particular operational context and scale and, therefore, was very keen to speak to relevant members of staff, in an informal, supportive and collaborative way, about what their jobs entailed, their individual interface with health and safety issues and what tools they would find helpful. We were particularly impressed with the way Jill, in a very short timeframe, was able to get a great insight into the organization and gained a really good understanding of how we work and where our gaps /vulnerabilities lay from a health and safety perspective.
As a result of Jill’s work, we now have a new Health & Safety Policy/Statement which meets our statutory and regulatory obligations, as well as best practice; a robust but practical and workable set of procedures/processes and a suite of Risk Assessments which staff feel confident and comfortable in using as part of their everyday job roles.

I recently attended a Managing safely course at Leamington Spa which gave an overview of health and safety over four days. The reaction can often be, oh another health and safety course but this was excellently delivered by Jill Middleton using a variety of learning methods (won’t spoil it for you) and by the end of the course you felt you refreshed your knowledge or learnt new aspects of health and safety which you can apply throughout your work. The course was also an opportunity to meet and work with new colleagues from across Raglan on this interactive course. There is an exam at the end but you prepare for this over the four days, including mock tests. There is also a Project to complete but again you are completing this as you go through the various elements of the course. I would conclude by saying that I thoroughly recommend the course to any colleagues!

I chose to attend the IOSH Managing Safely Course to acquire a holistic understanding of Health & Safety at Work, to learn best practice and to manage all safety matters effectively. Jill has led me and my fellow trainees through the subject matters in a very competent way that helped us to develop a firm understanding of the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work act as well as its many regulations that sit within this legal framework.
