This Level 1 Health and Safety in the Workplace course aims to educate anyone at any level of any business about health and safety practices. It enables them to comply with their employer’s health and safety arrangements and do all they can to ensure everyone in the workplace remains healthy and free of harm.
Risk Assessments
This 1 – day course has been designed for anyone responsible for having to undertake written risk assessments. The course outlines the legal requirements for, and the role of, general risk assessments. Using a practical approach delegates will be able to fulfill the 5 steps to Risk Assessment and identify the factors involved in assessing risk. Be able to complete suitable and sufficient risk assessments. Recommend control measures and understand the reasons to record and review their findings. This course can be tailored to the needs of the client.
Manual Handling
This 1- day course is aimed at anyone who carries out manual handling activities at work and introduces delegates to the hazards of manual handling, the risks involved and controls available and what to expect from a manual handling assessment. Upon completion, the delegates will have gained knowledge of:
- What is manual handling?
- Manual handling injuries.
- Causes of injuries.
- Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992.
- Assessments and assessor’s requirements.
- Controls.
- Good handling technique.
Successful completion will prepare delegates to look carefully at their own work activities and contribute to the safer manual handling practice in the workplace.
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health
This 1-day course has been designed for anyone with managerial responsibilities under and imposed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002. The delegates will be able to understand the definition and types of substances hazardous to health in the workplace. The health effects of hazardous substances and their causes. How to complete a suitable and sufficient COSHH assessments and control options. The safe use, the requirements of Personal Protective Equipment, correct storage, labeling and the correct symbols.
Fire Safety Awareness
This 1/2-day course covers the basics that every employee is required to know by law including The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the action to be taken in the event of a fire and fire prevention. It will further embed the specific policies / procedures and individual’s roles & responsibilities of your employees including what they do in the event of a fire.
Display Screen Equipment Self assessments
This 1 -day course has been designed for anyone who uses a computer for more than one hour continually each day. The course will help the delegate gain an understanding of the key legal responsibilities under DSE Regulations 1992.They will be able to identify the key areas that must be considered whilst completing an assessment of DSE work. They will gain a basic understand of work related ill health, symptoms and risk factors associated with DSE. The course also covers Managing the Use of Laptops.

Accident Investigation
This 1 – day course has been designed for anyone who is required to investigate accidents at whatever level, minimal to High. The course goes through the key reasons for preventing accidents. The legal reasons for accident investigation. The principles of accident investigation and accident causation and investigation techniques. We also discuss the basic concepts of human attributing factors for accidents. How to compile an accident report and the scope and stages of an accident investigation using real life cases.
Working at Height
This 1 -day course is aimed at anyone who works or manages an employee who works at height. We will introduce the delegates to the hazards of working at height, the risks involved and controls available and what to expect from a working at height assessment. Upon completion the delegates will have gained knowledge of:
- Working at Height Regulations (2005) and give a definition of Working at Height.
- Information on Accident statistics.
- Explain the process of risk assessments and the hierarchy of measures.
- To provide an overview of how to organise and plan working at height.
- A selection of appropriate equipment.
- Explain the use of ladders and stepladders.
- Note how to record and inspect equipment used.

This 1 – day course is aimed at anyone who is require to Lone Work in any circumstances. It is tailored to the client’s needs.

This 1 – day course is aimed at employees who may but put in a position of dealing with clients on a one to one basis. It is tailored to the client’s needs.
Conflict Resolution
This 1/2 – day course is designed to give employees guidance on how to effectively deal with potential conflict situations whilst maintaining personal safety.
Auditing
This 1 – day course is aimed at anyone who is expected to undertake an audit as part of their position. The aims and objectives of the course are to provide an overview of why we need to manage Health and Safety. They will understand the benefits of measuring health and safety performance proactively. To provide delegates with the skills to undertake an audit They will consider workplace assessments that may identify poor housekeeping, and identify poor hazard management, which if continued may lead to an incident or accident. Delegates will consider the inputs that contribute to effective management by looking at common issues.
Professional Boundaries
Professional boundaries define effective and appropriate interactions between professionals. These boundaries exist to protect both the professional, customers and colleagues.
This 1- day course is aimed at anyone where it is crucial that staff understand the nature and limits of their roles and are able to recognise the ‘grey areas’ where they are at risk of crossing their professional boundaries. The skills learnt will enable staff to define effective and appropriate interactions, understand and implement good practice and manage boundary issues effectively.

Legionella Training – Legionella Awareness – Half Day
HSE Legislation provides an approved Code of Practice (L8) to adequately control the risk of legionella in their water systems.
The code requires that we undertake regular training that will ensure all staff, who have any responsibility for health and safety controls in your premises are aware of the risks and suitably informed to be able to keep checks and records that control the risk from legionella.

Managing safely is for managers and supervisors in any sector, and any organisation. It’s designed to get managers up to speed on the practical actions they need to take to handle health and safety in their teams. The course aims to ensure what they need to know – and are perhaps reluctant to learn about – in a refreshingly informal way. Managing safely won’t turn delegates into safety experts – but it will give them the knowledge and tools to tackle the health and safety issues they’re responsible for. Importantly, it brings home just why health and safety is such an essential part of their job. The IOSH Safety for Executives and Directors course is approved by the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) and is intended for those who have overall operational or strategic accountability for an organisation, responsibility for determining and implementing effective safety and health management, and monitoring its success.
The course is designed to be interactive, allowing delegates the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge with the support of the course tutor. Delegates who attend the 1 -day course and successfully complete the written assessments will be awarded the IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) SED certificate.
